Chief Economist Jean-François Perrault of Scotiabank
September 25 @ 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm
Jean-François Perrault joined Scotiabank in 2015 as Senior Vice-President and Chief Economist. He leads a team of Economists to support Scotiabank’s domestic and international business lines and clients from retail to capital markets, providing Scotiabank’s senior executives, business lines and customers with perspectives, insights and forecasts on economic, financial market and policy developments.
For this event Jean-François will start with an overview of the global economy and risks to it, then transition to the Canadian outlook and place developments in Canada within that global context, with an outline of implications for interest rates and the dollar. From the Canadian view, he’ll drill down into Ontario to discuss regional developments, including housing market prospects. He’ll also break down what the trade war between the China and the US means for the world, and how it may affect our economy and interest rates!
