Christian Hasou
Associate Vice President of National Bank of Canada
As Associate Vice President, Christian is responsible for leading an experienced commercial banking team that focus on clients and prospects located in central and northern Ontario. For 10 years, Christian has led his team while gaining extensive experience in commercial banking sales and underwriting for clients across a diverse range of industry sectors. He is also a stalwart risk manager and has been permitted to deal with high risk loans and workouts that may occur.
Prior to joining National Bank, Christian was with GE Capital Solutions as Senior Account Manager responsible for the Ontario food and beverage sector based in Mississauga, ON. In the 5 years prior to this position, he held a series of progressive positions with BMO Bank of Montreal including commercial account manager and associate in their mezzanine finance group at BMO Capital Corp. Christian has also spent several years prior to his experience in commercial banking working as an analyst at both Deloitte & Touche Corporate Finance Canada Inc. and Ernst & Young Orenda Corporate Finance Inc. with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, valuations and due diligence mandates.
Christian has a CPA, CMA designation and holds an H.B.B.A. from the Wilfrid Laurier University.
Nigel Fenty
Principal, York Simcoe CFO Centre
Nigel Fenty is an accomplished, well rounded CFO with a track record of rapidly building better businesses in a variety of industries including SaaS technology, construction materials manufacturing & distribution, construction and automotive retail. His most recent experience includes successfully leading finance, capital raising and business turnaround efforts for a worldwide technology group of companies. Other recent experience includes successfully leading finance, strategy and business turnaround efforts for a group of construction materials companies in Toronto, Canada that were owned by LafargeHolcim, the world’s leading construction materials global group based in Zurich, Switzerland.
Nigel has successfully completed 10+ rounds of corporate finance deals over the last 12 years raising more than USD $100M. He has also managed, led or participated in 9 corporate acquisitions in the last 15 years with responsibilities ranging from pre-acquisition due diligence through to post acquisition integration. He has also championed various corporate divestments. He has a successful track record scaling companies in a variety of industries, driving top line growth, margin growth and building scalable backroom infrastructure systems required to support rapid business growth.
He is a highly valued business strategist who has identified and resolved inefficiencies and under-performance throughout all facets of the business. He has on multiple occasions used financial analytics to identify incremental profit opportunities and has successfully managed the execution of these opportunities. He has also created and completed various cost reduction plans. He is a collaborative leader and motivator who has successfully built highly motivated and loyal teams to consistently meet demanding mandates.
Nigel is an effective communicator at all levels of a business – from hourly workers to the board level. His background also includes several years in mortgage and investment banking. He is a CPA-CGA and has also completed a MBA (Finance) degree from Nova Southeastern University plus a certificate in Strategy from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton Business School.
Pat Jackson
Partner at BDO Canada
Patrick Jackson is a partner in BDO’s Barrie office, with over 15 years of professional experience providing accounting and assurance services to clients in a wide range of industries, including real estate and construction, legal, medical, manufacturing and retail. He has successfully assisted a number of clients in meeting their financial and tax reporting requirements, tax planning, business strategic planning, succession planning and practical business advice.
Patrick is a member of BDO’s real estate and construction industry group and has assisted with a variety of BDO’s national initiatives. He is involved in the community through memberships with Barrie Construction Association, Simcoe County Young Professional Association, Barrie Country Club, as a Mo Bro for the Movember Foundation and as a guest judge for the Henry Bernick Entrepreneurship Centre at Georgian College. Patrick has been a presenter at many BDO seminars and BDO Tax on Taps.
