Self-care has many proven benefits including improved immunity, increased positive thinking  and makes us less susceptible to stress, depression, anxiety, and other emotional health issues. In the context of the pandemic self-care has never been more important, especially for business  owners and leaders who are juggling so many competing priorities. Different than most  conversations about self-care, however, we focus on practical and inexpensive strategies for  self-care in the areas of time management, finances, and company culture – issues that we  know are causing stress for business owners and leaders.

With May being Mental Health Awareness Month, we thought it was timely to share our conversations on this topic of self-care for business owners and leaders. Being entrepreneurs  ourselves, we understand and want to share our data, resources, tools, and personal  experiences to help our community thrive as people so that they can support their companies  and employees to flourish too.

Hosted by Geneviève Lagacé-Gore from Marquee Benefits and Jackie Faulkner from Thrive State.

With my background as a Social Service Worker and Art Therapist, I excel at creating strong, authentic relationships. I am deeply observant about the subtleties of relationship dynamics and use my insights to guide others towards healthier interactions in their own lives-whether personal or professional.

Being part of 2 family businesses I am also skilled at navigating the delicate nature of these dual relationships and have successfully helped others to do the same.

My work has involved:

  • diagnosing employee engagement issues and providing strategies to improve productivity
  • mediating conflict conversations between family / employees
  • coaching senior leaders to prepare for difficult conversations
  • creating HR policies and employee handbooks to align a business’ values with their operational needs
  • facilitating workshops in the areas of employee engagement, mental health, and communication

In my spare time you will find me playing all sorts of outdoor activities or spending time with my family  and friends. I also love to read, bake, and make crafts.
