Melanie Bergsma (Mel) is the founder, owner and operator of HALO, Home and Life Organizers. She has the immense pleasure of working with the entire HALO team and their fantastic HALO clients. She has a degree in Sociology and Criminology from the University of Windsor, and a Counselor Certificate in Addiction Studies from the University of Toronto.
Nobody ever sees her without a smile on her face. She cares passionately about people and uses her experience in counseling to help to get to know her clients and ascertain their wants and needs. She loves to meet new people and help families and individuals through difficult life transitions through HALO.
Her favourite thing to do outside of work is spending time with family and friends. Whether a fire in our backyard or tasting exotic foods during our travels, family and faith are my everything.

Fun Fact: “Well, this is more about our family dog than it is about me – our dog’s name is Ozzy Pawsbourne the Prince of Barkness.”

“At HALO, we specialize in hoarded homes, trauma cleanups and estate clean-outs. Not only do we do a fantastic job for our clients – we do it with the wellbeing of our clients at the forefront of everything we do. It is this empathetic and understanding approach that sets us apart from others in our industry.”
Can you share any exciting projects or initiatives your business is currently working on?
“2024 is HALO’s 10th Anniversary! We are planning a celebration with past and current clients, community partners, family, friends and others who have contributed to HALO’s legacy over the years.”
